The Cobber volleyball and women’s soccer team both solidified their spots in the top 15 of the nation when the new polls came out on Tuesday. The Cobber football showed up in the national rankings as the are now in the “also receiving votes category”.
The Concordia volleyball team stayed at No.15 in the AVCA national poll despite going 4-0 at the Wartburg Invitational and posting wins over a pair of top 25 teams. CC is currently 8-1 on the season and has won six straight. The 8-1 start is the best beginning to a season since the Cobbers went 25-1 in 2006.
The Cobber women’s soccer team made a huge jump in the national rankings. After beating Augustana and St. Scholastica in the Cobber Invitational Tournament, CC jumped from 17th all the way to 11th in the DIII NSCAA National poll. Concordia is also ranked No.1 in the North Region.
The CC volleyball team hosts Hamline on Tuesday at 5 p.m. and then travels to Colorado to Compete in the Colorado College Invitational tournament over the weekend. The women’s soccer team also opens conference play this week. They will play at Hamline on Wednesday and then host Gustavus on Sunday, Sept. 18 at 1 p.m.
